Advanced Automated Performance Testing Test performance of every config you own, from inside the game ​ BeamNG Automatic performance testing can measure your config's 0-100, top speed, braking distance and off-road score automatically. It has one problem: it can only be to be run via cmd. This tool lets you test your vehicles directly from your game, and much more. The vanilla Performance Testing You can read about it here. In short, you put your config name into work.json, the game loads the autotest map and spawns the config, tests off-road capabilities, acceleration, and braking, then writes everything into that config's info_<config>.json and closes the game. Next config? Repeat. What this tool adds The Advanced Automated Performance Testing tool takes the existing testing rig and enhances it with a proper in-game UI with multiple new options. Most important changes: Open it with a keybind – load Automated Testing map, click a button, and you're ready to test your configs. Test any mix of configs you like – tick a few on one car, switch to another, tick a few more, run them all in one batch. Check for outdated info – every result records the .pc file's timestamp, so if you change a config after testing it, the menu shows you which configs you should update. Choose what to test – You can select which of the three tests you want to conduct and which to skip. No more waiting for off-road test if you only changed the final drive ratio. 2x and 4x speed – if you need to test a large batch of configs, you can speed up your game (experimental, your results may vary). Filter by vanilla, custom, and user configs Companion app: Simple Configuration Information Editor The test measures numbers. It can't know what your config is called or what it should cost, and saving a config in-game writes only the .pc and a thumbnail, leaving the rest blank. With this companion app you can edit the name, description, and value of your config without leaving the game. This app works on any map. Extra feature: auxiliary checkbox – ever wanted to remove a config from Vehicle Selector? Now you can do it with a few clicks, in a non-invasive way. Works also with vanilla and mod configs! How to use Bind both actions in Options > Controls > Debug. Neither has a default key. Load the Automated Testing map (hidden by default – turn Include Aux Content on). Press your key and choose the configs you want to test from the menu. Choose which tests to run then press Run and go grab something to drink – testing one config at 1x game speed takes approx. 3 minutes. Optionally, open the Configuration Information Editor to fill in names, descriptions and prices. Notes and known issues The performance tests only work on the Automated Testing map – this is on purpose, as tests were designed around this map. The config editor app works on any map. Just like with the vanilla performance testing, the results go to your user folder – no need to worry about overwriting game files. Some configs can't complete every test: a truck that can't reach 100 km/h will never produce braking figures. 1x speed is recommended. 2x is fine for quick testing, 4x is fast but prone to errors. Vehicles with no engine or no wheels get skipped through most of the suite. Credits The measurement logic is BeamNG's own, from the game's internal test tooling. This mod rebuilds everything around it and updates several parts and issues in the original. All credit for the test itself goes to BeamNG team.
